The story
Located on the road that leads from San Foca to Torre Dell’Orso, appears the cave called “della Poesia” (the Cave of Poetry). It is said that a beautiful princess loved bathing in the wholesome water of the cave; its beauty was so ravishing that soon the news spread throughout Puglia. And that’s how a moltitude of poets from all over the south of Italy gathered in that place in order to compose verses inspired by its beauty, thus giving the name to that place that’s known today as “la Grotta della Poesia”. Tourists who would like, will so be able to admire one of the ten most beautiful natural pools in the world.
